What to Know Before You Buy

• Counter size and workspace. 

  A compact pop-up, RPL fabric counter, or 2ft Big Sky counter works well in a 10x10 booth where floor space is limited. A 4ft to 6ft counter is better suited to 10x20 and larger spaces where a narrow counter would look undersized and leave your team cramped. For island exhibits, a counter that is proportional to the overall footprint reads as intentional. One that is too small looks like an afterthought.

• Backlit vs. non-backlit. 

  If your booth position tends toward dim or inconsistent overhead lighting, a backlit counter keeps your graphic visible and brand-accurate regardless of where you end up on the floor. If your booth is already well-lit by supplemental lighting or the venue is consistently bright, a non-backlit counter delivers a clean professional look at a lower cost. The gap between a good non-backlit counter and a backlit one is most noticeable at conventions with high exhibit density and inconsistent hall lighting.

  Mixing counter frame systems with mismatched backwall hardware creates visible inconsistencies in frame profile, finish depth, and graphic material that are immediately obvious in person even when they look fine in product photos.   Illuminated counters use translucent fabric designed to diffuse LED light evenly. Standard print fabric blocks the light source.
